16: The Delorge Interpretation
The 19th century Romanian satirist Delorge is famous for his demolition of syllogistic logic. He constructed the “syllogism to demolish all syllogisms.” –
All trees are real
Unreality permeates all aspects of life
Therefore trees are not real
He thus exposed the age-old correlation between premise and conclusion as a hangover from the Drewitt Group’s rational empiricism. Delorge coined the term ‘unreality/reality interface’ to explicate the inherent contradiction of knowledge claims. Delorge avoided self-reference by introducing an inverted constant in the last instance.
The interpretation was the precursor to the Delorge Matrix, devised by Forlan Volcarnius. This is best represented by the renowned Consumer’s Dilemma:
